Events and Happenings
Salamanca has a variety of year-round cultural activities and other exciting events for the whole family. In the months of June, July and August the Salamanca Area Chamber of Commerce offers the Summer Sunday Concert Series at Jefferson Park, with FREE entertainment from local musicians like Oliverio, Art Cooneys Ragtime Band, The Roadrunners Band, The Kokomo Time Band, Steve Gordons Coyote Band, Red Rhythm, The Polka River Boys and performances from The Seneca Youth Dancers. Food is available from Clutes Big Apple, Friends of Strays, The Dudley Hotel, and the Salamanca Lions Club. August 20th & 21st The Historic Cattaraugus County Bicentennial Wagon Train and Stagecoach Run will be making it's way into Salamanca and will be camped overnight at the old railroad property on Main St. Come and learn about travel in the pioneer days and join them for dinner, sit around the campfire and listen to tall tales, enjoy the entertainment being planned and then come back to join them for breakfast before they head out towards the end of their journey at the county seat in Little Valley.
September 26th, 27th and 28th, the Salamanca Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 31st Annual Falling Leaves Festival in Jefferson Park and adjacent locations in Salamanca. This year, the popular festival falls on the Cattaraugus County Bicentennial Celebration. Visit our city decorated in patriotic buntings and recreation of the Centennial Arch, coordinated by the Salamanca Historical Society and the Salamanca Bicentennial Events Planning Group. The weekend proudly features the Offical Cattaraugus County Bicentennial Grand Parade at 1pm on Sunday, food and craft vendors, childrens amusements, live entertainment, boxing match, pigeon races, civil war reenactments, petting zoo and much more! During the winter holiday season, the Silver Bells Festival honors Salamanca native and author of the classic Christmas song "Silver Bells," Ray Evans. The week highlights community, twinkling lights, The Ray Evans Seneca Theater and holiday fun! Stay tuned for full schedule of events and vendor application.
