ALLEGANY RIVER FEST
July 9-11, 2010

The summer's ultimate place for country-western fun & entertainment the whole family will enjoy!

The Salamanca Area Chamber of Commerce invites you to join us for our Annual Allegany River Fest. Our new festival showcases two of Salamanca’s greatest assets, the Allegheny River and Veteran's Memorial Park. This country music-themed festival is sure to get your feet stomping!

Last year's concert showcased The Bobby Hartle Band, Buffalo favorites West of the Mark and the highlight of the evening was the performance by Heartland, an American country music band from Huntsville, Alabama. HeartlandHeartland’s debut single, "I Loved Her First," went on to top the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. In 2007, their single "Once a Woman Gets a Hold of Your Heart," charted at number 52 on the charts.

In addition to the concert, come attempt to defeat the mechanical bull or get your loved ones together for a western-style photo. There will also be plenty of wonderful food, hayrides and other entertainment!

Stayed tuned to see who will be perfoming at
next year's concert!

On Sunday, the Salamanca Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting The Great Cardboard Boat Regatta®. The regatta originated in 1974 at Southern Illinois University and is now enjoyed by more than 1,500 participants and more than 100,000 spectators across the USA each summer, and more communities join the Circuit each year. Family fun, community spirit, and creativity are the key elements for this event. Our challenge to you is to design and build a human-powered boat made of corrugated cardboard which is capable of completing at least 3 trips around a 200-yard course. Anyone can participate - just show up on Sunday with your team and your boat! The Races will take place in the Allegheny River at the Front Avenue boat ramp. For more details and rules, contact the Salamanca Area Chamber of Commerce office at 716-945-2034 or visit The Great Cardboard Boat Regatta® website. Immediately following the regatta, the Salamanca Youth Bureau will be sponsoring duck races and all proceeds benefit the Youth Bureau and their projects.
